The two year journey back to the WNBA has included stops playing in France, Turkey, Spain, and with the Georgia Soul in the WPBA for Alexis Prince, who is getting her shot with the Chicago Sky.

Back in late July, Alexis Prince was busy lighting it up on the court for the Georgia Soul at the inaugural 360 Hoops Invitational 3X3 Tournament at DME Sports Academy in Daytona Beach, Florida.

Donning the custom-made uniforms for the Soul designed and created by Wooter Apparel, Prince scored a game-high 19 points, grabbed five rebounds, and handed out six assists in the 54-25 victory over DMT in the women’s championship game.

Six weeks later the hard work and versatility from the former Baylor University guard paid off as the Chicago Sky of the WNBA signed Prince to a free-agent contract for the remainder of the 2020 season. The journey back to the WNBA after a two-year hiatus has officially come full circle for Prince after she was initially signed as a training camp invitee for the Sky back in February.

Originally a 2017 WNBA Draft selection by the Phoenix Mercury, the Jacksonville, Florida native logged 20 career games while playing for the Mercury and the Atlanta Dream before venturing overseas to compete in France, Turkey, and Spain. Prince has also spent her offseason developing her overall game in the upstart WPBA with the Georgia Soul, playing along other professionals like fellow Baylor Bear Khadijiah Cave (Israel), Aliyah Collier (Clemson, Finland) and Dominique Wilson (North Carolina State, Israel).

Ranking 8th all-time on Baylor’s career list for 3-point field goals (136), Prince wasted little time in making a splash in her debut with the Chicago Sky against the Atlanta Dream as she knocked down a three-pointer prior to the end of the first half. Despite the Sky falling to the Dream (97-89), Prince looked right at home at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida with Chicago prepping for the postseason.

Alexis Prince and the Sky look to bounce back from four-straight losses when they face the Dallas Wings in the final game of the 2020 WNBA regular season on Friday.
