NFL Alumni And Wooter Apparel Partner On Customized Jerseys For NFL Leagues United
/When it comes to youth football, nothing is better than watching young players and teams put in the hard work to get better and be rewarded for their dedication, effort, and energy they bring to the field.
On Saturday in San Diego that scene unfolded as Wooter Apparel partnered with the NFL Alumni to create and customize the sublimated jerseys for the USA vs. Mexico Championship youth football game presented by NFL Leagues United and the NFL Alumni chapter in San Diego.
“It’s an honor for us to be working with such a prestigious organization to give back to the kids around football on a national level,” said Wooter Co-Founder and COO, David Kleyman, who was joined at the event by fellow Wooter Co-Founder and CMO, Alex Kagen.
A non-contact and co-ed youth league, the NFL Alumni is already looking ahead to next season when the organization will be adopting youth football programs around the country to team-up with.
The USA vs. Mexico Championship game was just the start.
“It amazed me to see the unity sports can create. The Mexico teams came over the border that morning for the games and all of the kids were blown away by the Wooter Apparel jersey,” said Charlie Boots, Director of Branding with the NFL Alumni.
“Next football season we will be providing jerseys for youth sports teams around the country in NFL markets. Wooter is ahead of their time in the international design and manufacturing world, I am happy with this partnership.”
Lynell Hamilton — a Super Bowl champ and former NFL running back with the New Orleans Saints — serves as the NFL Alumni San Diego chapter president and was also on-hand to share his vast experience from around the game and work with the young players on their skills training and development. A native of Stockton, California, Hamilton also starred at San Diego State University and is the CEO of Fast Play Athletics, where he works with youth players in building and growing their football training habits and regiments.
NFL Leagues United (NFLLU) takes a unique approach toward developing young players who are just getting introduced to playing football or simply want a chance to grow during the offseason. Starting at the age of 5-years old, players can take the appropriate steps to learning the true fundamentals of the game and advancing their skills and techniques. From NFL Flag Football, players move on to play in a 5-on-5, 6-on-6, and 7-on-7 style leagues, with the NFLLU culminating with an 8-man football league and the closest experience to tackle football, in a non-contact league and setting.
That same dedication, effort, and energy also extends beyond the football field and into the classroom for the NFLLU.
Part of the mission also focuses on helping these young players mature in the classroom as student-athletes in an effort to reinforce good academic habits and positive in-class behavior. The league made it a priority to integrate academics into the game day experience as well. Following each touchdown, teams are provided with an option of three different extra points (1 pt, 2 pt, and 3 pt.), with the NFLLU’s 1 point extra try being an academic question based on that weeks academic captain’s grade level (teams select an academic captain for each week). This allows NFLLU student-athletes the opportunity to not only understand the immediate impact of being academically prepared, but also that being a leader on the field is directly connected to the classroom.
In partnering with the NFL Alumni, Wooter Apparel continues to place a focus on giving back through sports while designing and creating unique and colorful sublimated jerseys and uniforms that help athletes look and feel like a pro. Over the weekend, players from around San Diego and Mexico did exactly that.
They came together to share their love for the game of football and shine on the field with the NFL Leagues United.
