The comback season is officially here.

When the Coronavirus pandemic spread around the world back in early March, even sports leagues and teams were forced to reluctantly hit pause for the foreseeable future. Yet with many parts of the country and communities gradually reopening in phases after a lengthy lockdown — as seen by the success of the Collegiate Summer Basketball Invitational — a return to athletics has come about slowly but steadily from youth to professional sports. With it signals a chance to turn the focus back on teams reuniting, safe practices, gearing up to compete this Summer and upcoming Fall, and looking the part by once again donning their jerseys and uniforms with pride.

Here is a closer look at just 5 Wooter Athletes and teams making news as we transition back to life with sports…

There is a reason why Wooter Apparel shined a bright spotlight on Sophomore Reedley College running back, Jamon Chambers, at the end of another memorable football season for the Tigers who have mounted a 20-2 record over the last two seasons. In a 2019 season that saw Reedley Football victorious capturing a second straight American Golden Coast Conference championship and the Northern California Football Association American Division Championship, it was Chambers who anchored the ground game resulting in the Tacoma, Washington native being named the Offensive Player of the Year by the team. Now after racking up 1815 rushing yards, 800 receiving yards, 29 total touchdowns and throwing for two touchdowns during his career at Reedley, Chambers is officially moving on to Division I Abilene Christian University where he’ll have a chance to shine with the Wildcats in the Southland Conference. Congratulations to Jamon Chambers and thanks for repping the Reedley College customized uniform collaboration with Wooter Apparel the past two seasons.

The Late Zeke Upshaw Honored With Custom Made Shooting Shirt For Annual RBA Showcase

One of our favorite jerseys, uniforms, and apparel to custom-make at Wooter Apparel is for the guys at the RBA Showcase who put in work during the summer at Basketball City, but this year is even more special than the previous. What is ultimately a must-attend event for NBA hopefuls, draft selections, free agents, and overseas professionals led by NBA agent, BJ Bass, is also a chance for Bass to celebrate one of his fallen clients. In 2018, Zeke Upshaw passed away two days after the 26-year old forward our of Hofstra collapsed to the court with 40 seconds remaining in the G-League Grand Rapid Drive’s victory over Long Island. Sadly enough, Upshaw died as a result of cardiac arrest. As plans come together for the 11th Annual RBA Showcase, Wooter Apparel has already designed and created a tribute to the Zeke Upshaw Foundation on the shooting shirts for the event — sponsored by Morgan Stanley, Dr. Dish, and the New York Sports Science Lab — to pay homage to a player and person not soon forgotton.

When COVID-19 shut down basketball courts and practices across the United States, student-athletes were forced to get creative with individual workouts and quarantine Zoom call sessions showing their team spirit. For the guys in Indiana with BALL 46201, this included personal photo shoots with players sporting their orange, white, and black customized uniforms from Wooter Apparel. With team practices and games now set to resume in Indianapolis at Woodruff Place Baptist Church, BALL 46201 is focused on the mission at hand as they serve urban students through sports-based youth development principals. Their Elite teams help build high character competitive players on and off the court, with BALL 46201 offering open gym times, leagues, skill-development camps, and leadership trips dedicated to developing fundamental training. We are looking foward to the kids at BALL 46201 doing big things on and off of the basketball court this Summer in Indiana.

Missing The Brunson League This Summer In Baltimore

If you have followed the partnerships Wooter Apparel has formed through sports over the past six years, you’ll easily understand how championing the cause of the Brunson League is always a top priority. Along with uniquely crafting jersey tops and basketball shorts the past two years to echo Baltimore’s colorful and vibrant basketball history, it’s with great respect that we continue to applaud the rise of the Brunson League and its talented players. That’s why it hurt us to hear how play of Maryland’s number one Pro-Am would be suspended for this Summer and the season canceled due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Count on Brunson League founder and commissioner, Sean Brunson, to comeback bigger and better in 2021. Until then, we’ll make sure to recognize our past Brunson League X Wooter Apparel collaborations over the course of this summer on social media to highlight talented photographers like Joey O’Dwyer, Fan-I- Sports, 1Motion Sports, and James Sneed among others and to give fans in Baltimore their Pro-Am hoops fix.
